Suspected impaired driver detained after collision on I-405
The
police are investigating Tuesday morning after several people were injured in a
wrong-way accident on Interstate 405 in Kirkland. The accident occurred around
2:00 am in the southbound lane north of NE 70, which also blocked three traffic
lanes. The Washington State Patrol officer Rick Johnson said two cars were
involved in a collision. A suspected disabled woman was driving in the wrong
direction and was later taken into custody. The officer also said two persons
from the other car involved in the accident were taken to Harborview Medical
Center, but their condition is unknown. I hope these two people did not get so
many injuries and will soon recover. I hope those who can't drive shouldn't
